Dussehra Celebration

Dussehra, also known as Vijayadashami, is an important Hindu festival that celebrates the victory of good over evil. We here at Indian Public School celebrate this festival with great enthusiasm.

On the day of Dussehra, students and teachers come together to decorate the school with colorful rangolis, flowers and other decorations. They also set a stage for a traditional drama of the Ramayana, which depicts the story of Lord Rama’s victory over the demon king Ravana.

Students also participate in various cultural programs including singing, dancing and poetry recitation, highlighting the importance of the festival. They wear traditional Indian dress, and many schools organize a procession to celebrate the occasion.

At the end of the festival, effigies of Ravana, Meghnath and Kumbhakarna are set on fire, symbolizing the destruction of evil. This part of the celebration is always a highlight for the students as they watch the huge effigies being burnt with enthusiasm.

Overall, Dussehra celebration in school is a great way to inculcate cultural values, foster teamwork and leadership skills, and bring the community together to celebrate an important festival.
